Early this morning I was at a 3 hour Pre-School registration for my daughter Mia and then tonight I was covering the Red Carpet at the Whole Planet Foundation Pre-Grammy party for Wake Up! I also had the wonderful opportunity to join in on the private Pre-Grammy party after covering the Red Carpet. It was amazing seeing Grammy nominated artists perform. This day was a good reflection of the brand that I have spent the last 8 years building, ‘Mommyhood to Hollywood.’ I don’t always live the “normal” mommy life, or perhaps what’s considered to be “normal,” and so I don’t expect everyone to understand it. However, everyday I set out to be an example to the two most important people in my life and those are my daughters Madison and Mia. My mantra for them is to never allow anyone to shame their dreams that they are willing to work hard for. Anything is possible! And the only way I can show my girls how to be strong, driven, motivated women who follow their dreams, is by being one myself. Whenever they see their mommy going after her dreams, as crazy as some of them may be, it makes my girls believe in their dreams even more. That makes me proud and happy. So yes their mommy is bubbly, loves to sing and dance, and be silly, and doesn’t work the typical 9 to 5, but in the end, my girls are my everything and one day they will understand that their mommy didn’t have the amazing experiences in her life, by just living “normal,” if that’s what you want to call it. My advice to my children is to NOT live a “normal” life, but instead to live a happy one, and whatever “happiness” means to them, is their normal, and there isn’t anything wrong with that.
