This is part of a compensated campaign with Latina Mom Bloggers and Ford Motor Company.  However, all opinions expressed are my own.

LATINO AMERICANS is an important three-part, six-hour series on PBS that gives people the opportunity to learn more about all of the positive contributions that Latinos have made to our country here in the United States.

The series documents the experiences of Latinos over the last 500 years following their struggles through immigration and how they overcame obstacles, living their lives in meaningful ways that eventually help shape America into what it is today.

LATINO AMERICANS features many stories of significant Latinos in which many people have not even heard of, but should know about because of their important impact they have made on the evolution of Latinos within the American culture.

LATINO AMERICANS also features interviews with very famous Latinos as well, such as Puerto Rican star of West Side Story, Rita Moreno; Mexican-American author and commentator Linda Chavez, who also became the highest ranking woman in the Reagan White House; and Cuban singer and entrepreneur Gloria Estefan.

My mom and I especially enjoyed watching the series as we are both Puerto Ricans born in the Bronx, New York.  I moved to Southern California when I was 4 years old though, while my mom was raised in the El Barrio of the Bronx.  She could really relate to many of the stories in the series about the struggles between the different ethnicities in the neighborhoods, as well as relate to the culture that grew within the streets of New York.  It also brought up fond memories for her of celebration through food and music, Salsa music to be exact, which penetrated the sounds of The Projects.

My family and I have really been enjoying the series and so I would like to encourage all of my readers to watch Part 3 airing tonight, October 1st on PBS.

I am proud to be working with a brand like The Ford Motor Company who provided the corporate funding for the LATINO AMERICANS series. Ford understands the impact that Latinos have made in our communities, and is one of the most respected brands among many Latinos because of their multi-faceted and on-going commitment.
