When my daughter stopped drinking her bottle my biggest concern was that I wanted to make sure that she still drank enough milk. After all, milk has some very wonderful benefits, especially to a growing child. The calcium in milk contributes to strong bones and teeth, milk also contains antioxidants and it’s low in calories and has no cholesterol. Therefore incorporating milk into my daughter’s daily diet in one way or another is very important to me.
One way I put milk into my daughter’s diet is by using it in her morning cereal. This is perhaps the most simplest way to give any child one of their very important daily servings of milk.
Another way that I like to incorporate milk into her diet is by making her oatmeal with milk, instead of with water.
I never understood in the first place why oatmeal instructions have water instead of milk? Milk makes oatmeal taste way better than water does and it comes with all of those fabulous health benefits that I talked about.
I have also incorporated milk into my daughter’s diet by switching a juice box to a milk box instead. It seems kids love to drink out of those juice boxes, so I changed it up to a chocolate milk box to see what would happen and guess what, my daughter loved this too! It’s a special sweet treat with all those added healthy benefits that our children don’t even know about.
My daughter also ends everyday with warm milk. She absolutely still wants to drink warm milk before bed. Milk’s protein does contribute to helping people sleep well. This seems to be the case with my daughter too. Warm milk seems to soothe her and I truly believe that it helps her to get a better night’s sleep too.
