This is truly frightening. It is the poses that really worry me. Halloween has become the “dress in as little as you can” holiday for many women and it seems to already to trickling down to our kids.

Dear Mommyhood—It is very sad that we have sold out our childrens youth to wanting to appease their desire to be “sexy”. Marketing genius has created a moral gap between what we know is right and what the child thinks is “cool.” We have to say no and instead of buying a costume….sit down with your child and create one together. There are a million costumes that are not only “mother/father” friendly, child appropriate but also amazingly inventive. Keep up the great articles.

Yes I do think that how they accessorized these costumes with the shoes, as well as how they posed the models definitely makes it even more provocative looking. It is ridiculous. Children are exposed to too much already as it is these days, do we really need to project on them that they should be sexy at Halloween too?

Look at the shoes on some of them. The last one I sort of understand because it’s based off a doll. Still I remember the old days of the PVC costume with the old plastic mask LOL.

Although I get it, I still don’t think I’d put my daughter in a costume like that. Let kids be kids, they grow up too fast as it is. This is ridiculous.
