It has been confirmed that Whitney Houston was found dead in the bathtub of her Beverly Hills room.

Paramedics did perform CPR on the singer upon their arrival, but she was pronounced dead at 3:55 pm on Saturday.  There were no signs of “foul play,” but investigators are doing a thorough investigation of the scene.  It has been reported that they are now seeking a search warrant in order to be able to conduct a more detailed search.

Whitney Houston’s body remains at the Beverly Hilton hours after her death while the investigation continues to go on.

Update: According to TMZ so far no illegal drugs have been found in the hotel room where Whitney Houston died, but prescription drugs were present, and it’s possible that the singer drowned in the bathtub.  Sources told TMZ that when EMTs arrived Whitney’s body was already removed from the bathtub so it will take an autopsy to determine if she OD’d, drowned or died from some other cause.  There was no evidence present that Whitney was drinking alcohol, although several pill bottles were found. 

Whitney’s body was removed from the room on a gurney and will go to the morgue for an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
