My friendly TaskRabbit showed up on time and was ready to get to work.  She was very nice and I felt very comfortable with her right off the bat.  I don’t typically invite strangers into my home, so I was relieved that I felt right at ease upon meeting her.

She ironed my family’s clothes very meticulously and hung everything up on hangers too. She also folded all of my two year old’s laundry very nicely as well.

As she worked away on ironing and folding the laundry, I worked away on meeting several deadlines I had for Mommyhood to Hollywood and so it was a great stress relief for me to get some of those household chores off of my back.

Once again TaskRabbit has allowed me to keep my promises to myself and to Do More! Live More! and Be More!

There are a lists of tasks that I absolutely hate to do and here they are in no particular order:  Fold laundry, iron, wash cars, and clean bathrooms.  Yes these tasks are my Nemesis.  Thank goodness TaskRabbit was around this week to help me conquer one of these tasks and that was the car wash.  Actually, there were two cars to wash and there was an event coming up in which I did not want to drive up in a dirty car to, so it was a must that they get washed.

Some of you may be thinking, “Why didn’t you just take it to a car wash?”  Well you try sitting at a car wash for over an hour with a 2-in-a-half year old and then ask me that question again.  Also, going through one of those drive-through car washes is not a great alternative either.  I did it once with my daughter and she freaked out and couldn’t wait to get out of there.  Also, the car wash wasn’t great and then there I was vacuuming it and trying to clean it out on my own anyway.

Okay, okay, I think your next question may be, “Why don’t you just have your husband do it then?”   I know!  Right!?  Wouldn’t that be AWESOME!?  Nope.  Not in my reality.  First my husband travels 50% out of the work year and second, I think car washing is his Nemesis too.  Oh well, there goes that brilliant idea.

So listen to what usually ends up happening.  During my daughter’s 2 in-a-half hour nap (if I’m lucky) I usually end up washing the car myself!  Yes, like I don’t have a million other things I could be or better yet should be doing.  Instead, there I am pulling out the heavy hose, rinsing the car, scrubbing the car, scrubbing the tires, rinsing the car again, cleaning the windows and then the mirrors, and then throwing out all the trash from the inside of the car, and then vacuuming the inside of the car, followed by polishing the inside of the car, rolling up the hose, and yes the added bonus, sweating like crazy.  Yay!  Then by the time I’m done, my daughter is awake and I’ve accomplished absolutely nothing else.

I decided to put an end to this car washing waste of time and instead hired a TaskRabbit to do it for me.  So I set up a time with Joshua who is a TaskRabbit and he was fantastic. He came to my house to wash my cars, which was so convenient for me, he was on-time, friendly, and I felt like I knew him already.  He washed two of my cars, inside and out, and he did a wonderful job with both of them.  Meanwhile, I was able to work on my online magazine, which was one of the promises I had made myself, while he was completing this task for me.  This was absolutely a huge relief to not have to worry about washing these cars.

Also, it turns out that Joshua does professional photography and so I may hire him to do some family portraits for me in the future as well!

TaskRabbit is the perfect solution to get rid of those pesky tasks, I can’t wait to set up my next task to get completed!  I promised myself to Do More!  Live More! Be More!  Now I am and you can too!

I’m pleased to announce that I am the new L.A. Spokesperson for TaskRabbit!  So some of you might be wondering, “What is TaskRabbit?”   TaskRabbit is a friendly and reliable online community of people who can help you with just about any task you need done. The mission of TaskRabbit is to get you some free time back into your life!  

I’m sure many of you are now wondering about how it works?  Well basically you just join TaskRabbit, it’s completely free to join, and then you post the task that you need done.  It’s very simple and user friendly.  Finally you name your price of what you are willing to pay your TaskRabbit.  You also include the time frame in which you need the task to be completed by.  Once you post your task it blasts out in real time to the TaskRabbit online community.  The TaskRabbits who are interested in doing this task for you, will then put in their bids to you to try and win that task.  You then choose which TaskRabbit you want to get your job done.  Cool huh?!  It’s almost like having your own personal assistant, but way more affordable!         

Naturally, you must be thinking by now, who are these people called, “TaskRabbits” and are they safe?  My answer to that is Yes.  Every TaskRabbit goes through a vetting process which includes a multiple step application, which even includes an essay, a federal criminal background check, and a video interview.  TaskRabbit’s main concern is the safety of their online community.  They want to ensure that you can Do More!  Live More!  Be More!  

Well now that you know all you need to know about TaskRabbit, what would you promise yourself to do if you had that valuable extra time on your hands to do it?  

In my case, I’m a work-at-home mom who constantly struggles with balancing my family time with my business life.  I’m sure many of you out there can relate to this.  I have a 2 in-a-half year old daughter who is not in daycare, she is home with me, but at the same time I’m also an entrepreneur and a TV host and so I work too.  Between going to classes with my daughter, taking her out on outings and play dates, as well as having her with me for the majority of errands that I run, the only time I really get to work is at night, can you say, “Sleep Deprivation!?”  Seriously, I go to sleep usually at 2am after I’ve been chasing a toddler all day long-EXHAUSTING!  

This is why I am excited to use TaskRabbit, I’m going to take back my time so that I can Do More! Live More! Be More!  I promise myself to not have to run so many errands with my daughter during the day, but instead do more fun things with her.  I promise to use her nap times as an opportunity for me to take a nap too, something I NEVER do, so that I can catch up on those much needed Zzz’s.  And if for some reason I can’t fall asleep for that nap, then I promise to work on my business endeavors, while she naps, instead of taking care of tasks around the house, so then at least I can go to bed earlier at night. Let’s face it, a rested mommy makes a better mommy!  

I already have so many tasks in my mind that I’m ready to give up to TaskRabbit: Grocery Shopping (CHECK MARK), folding laundry (CHECK MARK-not our personal laundry though-lol), clean house (CHECK MARK), wash our car (CHECK MARK), oh my task list can go on and on!
