I love summer!  This season has so much to offer, the warm weather, the long days, flowers and trees in full bloom, but nothing spells out summer more than a fun Block Party!  And in the spirit of Maestro we threw some yummy milk, BBQ, and “EL Paso Positivo” into the party mix.

First I must share one of my favorite dishes from the day and it was a Whole Milk Fresh Mozzarella, Roma Tomato, and Basil Salad.  This appetizer was so delicioso, to say the least.  Not only was it a tasty refreshing summer salad, but it was also a much healthier alternative to your typical chips and dip you may find at a BBQ.

Of course we had some serious grilling to do too!

There were plenty of refreshing cold drinks on hand, like one of our family favorites, milk!    My husband is especially a milk lover and has admitted that he could down a carton of it in one sitting as a kid (wow his parents must have loved that).

Now another awesome highlight to the Block Party meal was the dessert!  We made homemade ice cream and with simple ingredients like whole milk, cream, vanilla, and sugar we definitely could not go wrong.  We also included all of the toppings, such as whip cream, chocolate and caramel syrup and a rainbow of sprinkles!  The kids and the adults loved it!

Okay so the most fun part of the party was definitely learning the El Paso Positivo song and dance.  Although, I was trying to teach my 6 year old niece and 3 year old daughter the dance, my niece declared herself the lead dancer and I have to say she deserved that title much more than I did!  Check it out!

Well at least I can say my niece and daughter did a great job.  This seriously is a fun dance to do and dancing is such a great form of exercise, so it’s a win all around!  I included the “official” El Paso Positivo Video with two little girls who seriously know their stuff.  Watch the video and join in on the fun!
