So parents and guardians if you have your very own little dancing monkey at home (a.k.a one of your kids) who is 8 years old or younger, then you’re invited to enter a video of them dancing to the Curious George theme song.  This could win your child a chance to be featured on a Curious George DVD!  You and your child might even win a visit from George himself!  So we want to see how your kids bust a move, cut a rug, or get jiggy with it along with Curious George.

Now through April 2, 2012, parents and guardians of kids aged eight and under can send in videos of their child’s moves to CuriousGeorgeDanceContest.com.  A panel of judges will choose ten finalists based on their creativity, enthusiasm, and originality.  Then, starting April 16^th through April 30^th, George’s friends and fans–the public–will vote for the winner.  All finalists will receive a Curiosity Kit, filled with a Curious George book, game, DVD, and other fun George merchandise.  Contest entries will be accepted through April 2, 2012.  For complete rules and regulations, and to submit your child’s video, visit CuriousGeorgeDanceContest.com.

During its sixth season on PBS KIDS®, the Curious George television series is featuring a special focus on the arts, including dance.   Let’s face it children love to dance and it’s a wonderful way for kids to express themselves, while also getting their much needed exercise.  So make sure not to miss out on this opportunity to monkey around with George on the dance floor!

So now I want to share with all of you my favorite video of my daughter dancing.  This video is from a year ago, when she was only 2 years old, and although she’s not dancing to Curious George (which she has done many times too), I just love it because it really shows how much children do love music and do love to dance.  I entitled this video, ‘A Little Dance Before Nap Time.’
