<p><span style="color: #3366ff;">Since I was a child, my mom always made Arroz Con Leche for Christmas!  It is still one of the biggest things about Christmas that I look forward to.  It is seriously the yummiest dessert that I have ever had.  You can only imagine how excited I am that Christmas is now just around the corner.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #3366ff;">Now my mom has never shared her secret Arroz Con Leche recipe (I will get it out of her someday), however, I found a good one to share with you courtesy of </span><strong><span style="color: #3366ff;"><a title="Food.com" href="http://www.food.com/"><span style="color: #3366ff;">Food.com</span></a></span></strong><span style="color: #3366ff;"> that has received good reviews.  I hope you enjoy it!</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #3366ff;"><a href="https://michellerivera.com//wp-content/uploads/2011/11/Arroz-con-leche.jpg"><span style="color: #3366ff;"><img loading="lazy" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-4070" title="" src="https://michellerivera.com//wp-content/uploads/2011/11/Arroz-con-leche.jpg" alt="" width="400" height="461" /></span></a></span></p>
<div>
<ul>
<li><span style="color: #3366ff;">1 1/2 cups<strong> <a href="http://www.food.com/library/rice-160"><span style="color: #3366ff;">long-grain white rice</span></a></strong>, uncooked</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #3366ff;">2 cups <strong><a href="http://www.food.com/library/water-459"><span style="color: #3366ff;">water</span></a></strong></span></li>
<li><span style="color: #3366ff;">1 large <strong><a href="http://www.food.com/library/cinnamon-324"><span style="color: #3366ff;">cinnamon stick</span></a></strong> (or 2 smaller ones)</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #3366ff;">4 cups <strong><a href="http://www.food.com/library/milk-360"><span style="color: #3366ff;">milk</span></a></strong>, warmed (see description)</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #3366ff;">1/2 teaspoon <strong><a href="http://www.food.com/library/vanilla-350"><span style="color: #3366ff;">vanilla</span></a></strong> (or more, to taste)</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #3366ff;">3/4 cup <strong><a href="http://www.food.com/library/sugar-139"><span style="color: #3366ff;">sugar</span></a></strong></span></li>
</ul>
</div>
<div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: 22px; line-height: 32px; color: #3366ff;">Directions:</span></p>
<div>
<ol>
<li>
<div><span style="color: #3366ff;">In a large saucepan or pot, combine water, rice and cinnamon sticks and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to simmer, cover pot and heat for 10 minutes or until water is absorbed.</span></div>
</li>
<li>
<div><span style="color: #3366ff;">Add the warmed milk, cover and continue to cook over low heat for another 15-20 minutes stirring after 8-10 minutes. (The mixture will thicken as the rice absorbs the milk).</span></div>
</li>
<li>
<div><span style="color: #3366ff;">Add the sugar and vanilla and continue to simmer (uncovered) for 3-5 minutes to dissolve sugar completely (It will thicken even more as it cools).</span></div>
</li>
<li>
<div><span style="color: #3366ff;">Place into a large serving dish or individual custard cups. Place cinnamon stick on top and sprinkle with ground cinnamon for garnish if desired. Serve warm or cold, for dessert, snack, or breakfast.</span></div>
</li>
</ol>
</div>
<p><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: 16px; line-height: 24px; color: #3366ff;">The second milk &#8220;taste-bud pleaser&#8221; I enjoy will make you laugh because it is seriously a simple pleasure, but I absolutely LOVE drinking strawberry milk! Don&#8217;t ask me why, but chocolate milk was never my first choice (although I do like it too), but when it came to milk mixology, it was all about Strawberry, and when I was pregnant with my daughter I inhaled it like it was going out of style.  I&#8217;m actually surprised that she didn&#8217;t demand strawberry milk when she was born-LOL!</span></p>
