Despite Whitney Houston’s untimely death Clive Davis’ Pre-Grammy Party Is Going On As Planned. Whitney Houston was scheduled to be a guest at the event on Saturday night when news broke at the Beverly Hilton of her passing.
Clive Davis discovered Whitney Houston when she was only 19 years old. His Pre-Grammy party tonight will now be a party to pay tribute to her.
Recording Academy President/CEO Neil Portnow commented on tomorrow night’s show, saying Whitney Houston would have said “the show must go on,” and that “the way we heal each other is with our music.” He went on to add that “Whitney has been a big part of why ‘We Are Music,’ which is the theme for this year’s Grammy Awards.
The party is currently streaming live on the Grammy website.
